Spring Burlap Flower Bag

Do you remember this vintage peanut bag I turned into a drawstring bag awhile back?

http://leahjayewright.blogspot.com/2013/09/diy-burlap-drawstring-bag.html

I was wanting to make something for spring for my front door. I remembered I had this and thought it would be perfect with some flowers in it. I still thought it needed a little something, so found some fabric in my stash. I cut out a bunny and hand sewed it on.

Simple, free project! Can't beat that!

World Travel Date Night: Ireland

Each month for the next year my husband and I are "traveling" to a different place in the world. Last month's date night took us to Russia and this month we traveled to Ireland! I picked Ireland for the month of March being St. Patrick's Day is this month.

For this date I went with an Irish pub theme! I used our laundry room table and a couple bar stools for us to sit at and wrote the menu on a large chalkboard. I even found an Irish Pub radio station on Pandora for us to listen to.

To Drink: Guinness Beer
If you are like me and not a fan of beer, just opt for a root beer instead.

For Dinner: Grilled Hamburgers & Oven Wedge Fries
These fries were SO good!!

For Dessert: Green Chocolate Chip Cookies
If you already have a favorite cookie recipe, just add green food coloring to the dough before baking.

Activity: Pub Games

We played Backgammon. Other pub games could include:

*Cribbage
*Chess
*Card Games
*Darts
*Pool

Be sure to stay tuned for next month's date to England!

Burlap Mail Holder

How cute is this? Perfect holder for your mail and only need a few things to make it!

Materials Needed:
- 8x10 frame
- Burlap
-Staple Gun
-Two eye hooks
-Twine

Directions:
Start by stapling some burlap to the back of your frame.

Next use burlap to make a pocket at the bottom of the frame and secure it to the back by using your staple gun.
(Sorry, don't have a picture of this step)

Screw your eye hooks into the sides of your frame. I did mine about 1 inch from the top.

Thread some twine through the eye hooks so it will hang on the wall.

Wait for the mailman and fill your new mail holder!

Have a great weekend!

Rustic Gallery Wall

If you know me or read this blog often, you know I can't keep things in my home the same very long. I am always reorganizing, rearranging and redecorating. I have seen gallery walls all over Pinterest and have been wanting to do one for awhile. I "shopped" other walls and rooms in the house to come up with this. I love how it turned out!

What do you think? Do you have a gallery wall in your home? I'd love to see it!

Tomato Basil Grilled Cheese

Here is a more grown up spin on a childhood favorite. Super easy to make and very yummy!! Would be a perfect snow day lunch with a side of soup.

Tomato Basil Grilled Cheese
- Slices of whole wheat bread
- Tomato slices (I used grape tomatoes beacuse that's what I had)
- Cheese slices (I used American, Mozzarella would be good too!)
- Butter, softened
- Dried basil

1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Top with cheese slices, tomato and sprinkle with some basil. Make into a sandwich so the sides with butter are on top and bottom.

2. Toss on skillet and cook over medium heat. Cook each side until browned.

3. Sprinkle basil on top when finished cooking and enjoy.
