Encourage, Encourage, Encourage Your Husbands!

Derrick and I have been married almost 3 months. Hard to believe it's gone by that quickly already! Through the past three months I have started learning a lot about myself and about what God calls a Christian woman and wife to be. This blog is a way for me to keep track of all the things God is teaching me and a way for God to hopefully teach other woman to be all he wants them to be as well.

My first post is about encouraging our husbands. Too many times wives (including myself) don’t encourage our husbands enough to be the man/husband/father God wants them to be.  It’s our job to encourage them to be all these things by letting them know when they do something that not only pleases us, but pleases God. There are wives out there who are Christians and their husbands are not. Although God calls us to marry someone who is also a believer (1 Corinthians 7:12-14; 2 Corinthians 6:14) this is not always the case in some marriages. Even if your husband is a non believer, it is still your job to let him know you appreciate it when he is taking on the leadership role in your home or when he does things that reflect a Godly man. --Celebrate what you want him to become.

I encourage all of you women to say one encouraging thing to your husband today about something you see him doing that reflects the man you and God want him to be.

Thank you Derrick for always working hard and providing for our family!
