Nashville Trip

The hubby and I went to Nashville this weekend for a little getaway. Here are some highlights from our trip...

The first night we got there and were pretty tired so we ate dinner at the restaurant in our hotel and then headed down to the pool and hot tub for some relaxation!

Here is a picture of our room. We loved it, especially the jacuzzi tub!

Saturday we got up and had breakfast and then headed out to some antique stores. Our favorite was the Downtown Antique Mall. Although a lot of it was a little pricey, there were some really neat things in there!

After the antique stores we went to the Goodwill Outlet Store. I had never been before but it was well worth the trip! This is where items end up after they have been in the regular goodwill stores and before they are thrown out for good. Everything is thrown in huge bins and you have to dig through to find your treasures. Almost everything is priced by the pound. Fun experience for sure!! Want to check the one out in St. Louis sometime too!

Next stop was the Opryland Hotel. So pretty inside!! We ate lunch at the Jack Daniels restaurant and then found a little ice cream shop too!

Saturday night we found a little pub downtown and had dinner.

This morning (Sunday) we checked out and headed to Murray, KY to have a quick lunch with my sister on the way home.

It was a great trip and really wish we could have stayed longer! Excited Derrick and I both have the day off together tomorrow though and I know we are both looking forward to our next little getaway!

Rice Krispie KISSES

Saw this idea on pinterest so had to try it for the hubby on Valentine's Day! Turned out great!!

First, make your usual rice krispie recipe.  Then spray the inside of a funnel with non stick spray and pack rice krispies in tight.

They fall out very easily if you use enough spray. Set on wax paper.

After it's set a couple of minutes, shape more into a kiss shape. Let sit until finished.

Wrap up in foil and make a cute little tag for the outside.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

A Renewed Heart

John 11: 4~ “This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

As many of you know, I have been dealing with a chronic sinus infection since May 2012..yes, I have had the same infection for almost a year! Back in November I had sinus surgery and still haven't been able to tell much of a difference. They went back in a couple weeks ago to clean out some scar tissue that was built up from the last surgery. I had a post op appointment today and although he said it's finally getting better, there is still more swelling then there should be and I still have a small infection on the right side.

Why am I telling you all this? Because it's really hard not to get discouraged through all of this. I don't feel good most days and am always tired. My sister, who was diagnosed with Celiac Disease a year ago shared the verse above with me when she was sick all of the time. It really made me think..do I have it that bad? Not really. I'm still able to go to work everyday, get things done around the house and have fun with my family and friends. Don't get me wrong, feeling like poo all the time makes doing these things a lot harder, but there are people out there who have it much worse than I do

Although it's hard to understand why God hasn't completely healed me yet, I know somehow this will all be used for His glory! So, for now, I'm working on being more thankful, not complaining so much and patiently waiting for God's timing and healing...

2 Corinthians 4:16~ So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
