Entry Way Makeover

The entry way in our home needed a little attention...

Here is the BEFORE:

I started by typing up this bible verse from Psalm 118:24
"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

I thought it was the perfect verse to put by the door and look at as I leave the house every morning!

I then turned the mirror horizontal and added a few things below the frames.

I got the "W" at hobby and found this awesome scrapbook paper that looks like aqua painted wood to Mod Podge on top!

And, I'm still in LOVE with my telephone bench! :) Also found a new rug on clearance at Dollar General!

Here is the final BEFORE & AFTER:

A Fall Pinterest Project & Some Fall Decor

Pumpkins, bonfires, cool weather..I love everything about fall! Here is a pinterest project and some fall decor around my home...

I had seen on pinterest (and also at a friend's house) a neat project using a mason jar to hang flowers in on your wall. I decided to give it a try and it was super inexpensive and easy!

I didn't have any old curtain brackets at home, so went to Wal-Mart & got a couple for around $2.00.

The flowers I picked up from the Dollar tree and I already had the picture wire and mason jars at home. Simply wrap some picture wire around the jar and make a loop at the top to hang on the bracket.

 It's that easy!

Here is some more fall decor around my house...

 Love this chicken wire basket!

Pumpkin Spice candle...Mmmm...

Found some fall scrapbook paper I had to put in this frame.

Love the orange and red wild flowers in the aqua vase!

Have you started decorating for fall yet?

Words About Complaining

Lately I have been really tired and not feeling great. Well, a few days ago my husband informed me that I have been complaining...a lot....Oops :)

So, a little while later in the day I got out my bible to read, and like always, before I started I prayed that God would reveal what he wanted me to learn through my reading.

I open up my bible and this is what the VERY FIRST verse I read said:

"Now when the people complained, it displeased the Lord; for the Lord heard it, and His anger was aroused."  Exodus 11:1

Wow...how humbling and awesome is that?! I love when God clearly speaks to me through his word!

I don't think I ever told Derrick about this, but I've been trying my best not to complain so much since.

Complaining not only displeases God, but it displeases those around us who have to hear it all the time. Next time I feel like complaining, instead I'm going to TRY to just keep it to myself and be thankful that I don't feel worse and that I have an amazing husband who takes care of me when I don't feel good.

What has God been teaching YOU through His word lately?
