Grandma's Homemade Apple Pie

Last weekend Derrick & I took a trip to the farmer's market and got some apples! We canned some to have over winter......

And I also decided to make one of my Grandma's homemade apple pies! YUM!!

FOR THE CRUST:
- 2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
-6 Tbs ICE water

Combine flour, shortening and salt. Work with your hands to mix all together. Add ICE water. Roll into 2 crusts (one for bottom and one for top) Place bottom crust in pan.

FOR THE PIE FILLING:
-1 quart apples
-2 Tbs flour
-1tsp cinnamon
-1 cup sugar

Mix all together and pour pie filling on top of bottom crust. Dab pats of butter on top of apples. Place 2nd crust on top. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon and make a few slits on top. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Turn down to 350 degrees until done. Pie crust should be light brown.

Add some ice cream on top and enjoy!!
